Pollia crispata (R.Br.) Benth. APNI*

Description: Perennial herb; stems ascending, to c. 1 m high.

Leaves with lamina narrow-ovate, 10–19 cm long, 2–3.5 cm wide, glabrous, apex acuminate, tapering at the base; sheath 2.5–3.5 cm long, undulate around the orifice.

Inflorescence terminal, almost sessile, 3.5–5 cm long. Outer tepals imbricate; inner tepals 4–6 mm long, white or sometimes blue. Fertile stamens 3, staminodes 3.

Fruit 5–6 mm long; seeds grey.

Flowering: spring–autumn.

Distribution and occurrence: Grows in rainforest or on rainforest margins, in wet places or along creeks; north from Cambewarra Ra., inland to Belmore Falls and Elands.
