Description: Terrestrial herb, 30–50 cm high.

Leaf 30–45 cm long, bright green with reddish purple base.

Inflorescence 10–35-flowered, moderately crowded. Flowers greenish brown to reddish brown, lightly fragrant. Dorsal sepal narrowly ovate-lanceolate, 6–7 mm long, 3–3.5 mm wide, deflexed. Lateral sepals free, linear-lanceolate, 8–9 mm long, 1.5–2 mm wide. Lateral petals porrect to incurved, linear, 5.5–6.5 mm long, c. 1.3 mm wide. Labellum very shortly stalked; lamina 5–6 mm long, 4.5–5 mm wide, broadly elliptic-oblong when flattened, obliquely erect in proximal half, recurved at right angle just above the middle; apex often projecting between the lateral sepals, the margins widely flared, entire proximally, undulate-crenate distally. Callus plate elliptic-oblong, fleshy, with a broad, shallow median channel, 4–5 mm long, 2.3–2.8 mm wide, green, glabrous.

Capsule obovoid, 6–9 mm long, 4–5 mm wide, green to brownish.

Distribution and occurrence: Restricted to the New England Tableland, NE NSW.

Grows in grassland dominated by Themeda australis, on red-brown basaltic loams. Alt. c. 800-900 m.
