Prostanthera lanceolata Domin APNI*

Description: Erect shrub, 3–4 m high, aromatic; branches 4-angled to 4-ridged, moderately covered with ± sessile glands and moderately to densely covered with short, curled hairs, at least on the ridges.

Leaves with lamina narrow-ovate to ovate, 15–25 mm long, 9–12 mm wide; apex obtuse; base attenuate, decurrent; margins entire or with a few minute teeth; surfaces mid to dark green, lower surface paler, densely covered with ± sessile glands, glabrous except for the sparsely hairy midvein on lower surface; petiole 2–5 mm long.

Flowers in a terminal botryoid; bracteoles not persistent, 1–1.2 mm long. Calyx c. 4 mm long; tube c. 2 mm long; upper lobe 1.5–2 mm long, slightly enlarged in fruit. Corolla 8–12 mm long, mauve or deep blue-purple. Anthers without appendage or to c. 0.4 mm long.

Flowering: spring.

Distribution and occurrence: Apparently grows in wet sclerophyll and dry sclerophyll forest in near-coastal districts. The distribution of this taxon is not known.
