Pterocaulon redolens (Willd.) Fern.-Vill. APNI* 
Description: Erect herb, 0.3–1 m high, softly tomentose or woolly all over.
Leaves obovate to oblong, obtuse, 1.8–5 cm long, 0.6–2 cm wide, crenate, upper leaves smaller and entire.
Compound heads sessile, globose, many together towards end of stems forming a continuous or interrupted spike, 2–6 cm long, 6–8 mm diam. Outer bracts oblanceolate, inner bracts linear-lanceolate. Florets pale pink to purplish.
Achenes c. 0.8 mm long; pappus c. 3 mm long.
Flowering: April–July.
Distribution and occurrence: Grows in sandy soil in woodland and other well-drained areas; north from Casino district. One collection from Northern Tablelands.
