Description: Erect shrub; stems appressed-pubescent.

Leaves alternate, obovate, convex, with deep central groove, 5–15 mm long, 2–6 mm wide, apex obtuse and recurved, margins recurved, upper surface darker than lower; stipules up to 6 mm long.

Inflorescences terminal, dense; bracts imbricate, persistent, 3–8 mm long, usually 3-lobed, bristly to acuminate, obovate to circular. Flowers c. 10 mm long. Bracteoles 5–7 mm long, lacking stipules, obovate, acuminate, hairy, attached below the base of the calyx tube. Calyx c. 7 mm long, moderately to densely hairy; lobes acuminate. Ovary hairy.

Pod c. 6 mm long, flattened.
