Description: Much-branched herb up to 50 cm high; with scattered hairs and glandular-punctate.

Leaves alternate, opposite at the base, 1–4 cm long, pinnate with filiform lobes to 20 mm long.

Heads numerous, terminal, on filiform peduncles up to 25 mm long; heads turbinate, c. 3 mm diam.; bracts obovate, with a hyaline apex, margins minutely ciliate, glandular-punctate. Florets glandular; ray floret solitary; ligule 1.5–2 mm long and yellow. Disc florets yellow, usually 4–6.

Achenes narrow-turbinate, 4-angled, 4 mm long; pappus scales 8, membraneous, darkly striated at apex, some with awns.

Distribution and occurrence: Widespread; north from the Deniliquin area. Native of Chile.

Grows in disturbed sites and roadsides.
