Description: Decumbent to spreading perennial to c. 30 cm high; branches hairy.

Leaves semiterete, succulent, to c. 10 mm long, silky.

Fruiting perianth 2–3 mm long, often sparsely hairy; base oblique; spines 2 (or 3, or the third a tubercle), divergent, 5–8 mm long, frequently red, sparsely hairy; limb obvious but small.

Seed vertical.
