Description: Perennial herb or shrub 30–130 cm high, glabrous.

Leaves oblong-ovate to oblanceolate or ± obovate, mostly 3–12 cm long, 10–40 mm wide, margins toothed to entire, lamina glabrous, glaucous and relatively thin, lowest leaves tapered and base petiole-like, others only slightly narrowed and then base cordate, sessile and stem-clasping.

Inflorescence corymbose, heads few to many; heads campanulate, 5–6 mm diam., glabrous; involucral bracts 12–14, 5–7 mm long; bracteoles usually absent. Ray florets 6–9; ligules 6–8 mm long.

Achenes 2–2.5 mm long, brown; pappus 5–8 mm long.

Flowering: chiefly summer and autumn.

Distribution and occurrence: Widespread in wet sclerophyll forest and rainforest, in the ranges south from Gloucester and Rylstone districts; also recorded from Kaputar N.P. where the leaves are not glaucous but are larger, thicker and the margins more strongly toothed.
