Description: Herb or subshrub with several spreading decumbent stems to 75 cm. Sparsely or densely stellate hairy.

Leaves ovate to oblong ovate, 10–40 mm long, 5–25 mm wide, apex obtuse or truncate, base cordate or subcordate, margins including apex serrulate-crenulate, surfaces stellate-hairy, denser below, yellowish green, paler below; petioles 2–20 mm long; stipules to 4.5 mm long.

Flowers solitary, pedicels 2–6 mm long, rarely to 13 mm, articulate above the middle. Calyx cup-shaped, fused for half or more of their length, lobes 1.5–2 mm long, ovate, acute, stellate-pubescent outside. Corolla 3–4 mm long, larger than calyx, lobes obovate, emarginate, 3 mm long.

Fruit depressed globose, 4–7 mm diam., densely hairy; calyx persistent to mature fruit; mericarps 9–13, dorsally deeply reticulate, reticulation obscured by hairs, alveolate on sides. Seeds dark reddish brown.


Distribution and occurrence: Usually on red sandy loam in open Eucalyptus and Acacia aneura forests.
