Description: Shrub.

Leaves elliptic to ovate, 1–5 cm long, margins finely toothed, upper surface shining, lower surface hairy; shortly petiolate.

Flowers mostly bisexual, white, c. 10 mm diam., in few-flowered sessile umbels.


Flowering: in spring in advance of the leaves.

Distribution and occurrence: Double-flowered forms are cultivated as ornamentals; rarely naturalized. Native of temp. E Asia. NT.
