Description: Prostrate or ascending perennial to c. 15 cm high; stems pubescent with appressed basifixed, sub-basifixed and medifixed hairs.

Leaves 1–4 cm long; leaflets 5–7, obovate, lateral leaflets mostly 2–15 mm long, 1–5 mm wide, apex obtuse to retuse, lower surface sparsely pubescent; stipules c. 3 mm long.

Racemes 3–7-flowered; flowers mostly 6–9 mm long. Calyx pubescent, teeth 3–4 times as long as tube. Corolla purple; keel apex obtuse with a slight twist. Style tip straight to slightly inflexed or curved.

Pod oblong to ± elliptic, 10–12 mm long, pubescent; style c. 4 mm long; stipe minute.

Distribution and occurrence: Usually on clay-loam soils in well-watered areas, especially on floodplains.
