Synonyms: Teucrium sp. A sensu Conn (1992) APNI*

Description: Erect shrub, 0.2–0.4 m high, often with several stems from ground level; branchlets densely hairy with glandular and simple hairs.

Leaves opposite, petioles 2.5–15 mm long, winged; lamina discolourous, dark green above, broadly ovate in outline, pinnatifid, pinnatisect or bipinnatifid, 11–41 mm long, 7.5–20 mm wide, venation obscure on upper surface and densely hairy, rarely glabrous; lower surface pale green and densely hairy.

Inflorescences terminal, spicate or racemose, 4–11 cm long; bracts opposite sometimes toothed, 6–14 mm long persistent. Pedicel 1–3 mm long. Calyx campanulate, 10-veined, subequal lobes, densely hairy. Corolla 1-lipped, 5-lobed, white, hairy; stamens attached above base of corolla tube.

Mericarps 4, brown, globular, 1.5 mm long, surface smooth and glabrous.


Flowering: Flowers have been recorded from all months of the year; fruits have been recorded in July.

Distribution and occurrence: Grows around Dubbo in NSW through to Queensland Clemont to Goondiwindi.

Inhabits black cracking clay soil, often on alluvium, in grassland or associated Eucalyptus camaldulensis, Casuarina cristata or Acacia harpophylla.
