Description: Terrestrial herb 20–50 cm high; rhizome 1–6 cm long, 2–4 mm diam.

Leaves 3–7, ± clustered towards apex of a fleshy erect stem; lamina ovate, 3–8 cm long, 12–30 mm wide.

Inflorescence erect, 5–30 cm long, 2–30-flowered; peduncle 1–2 mm diam., pilose. Flowers not opening widely. Sepals dull green; dorsal sepal 4–6 mm long, 1.5–2 mm wide. Lateral petals 4–6 mm long, translucent white. Labellum 4–6 mm long, white; calli c. 0.5 mm long; lamina lobes c. 2 mm long and 2 mm wide, square to oblong. Column c. 1 mm long; rostellum lobes a little longer than the column, narrow-triangular.

Distribution and occurrence: Grows on the floor of littoral or subtropical rainforest, often locally common in small swampy sites in peaty soil; coastal lowlands north from the Clarence R.
