Field Characters: Small sub-canopy tree or Large canopy tree (up to 40 m high); Bole cylindrical (up to c. 80 cm diam.); straight (bole 18-20 m long); buttresses buttresses absent or buttresses present (buttresses up to 2 m high); spines spines absent; aerial roots aerial roots absent; stilt roots stilt roots absent; Bark bluish grey or brown, slightly rough or smooth, pustular, lenticels elongated vertically; Subrhytidome (under-bark) green or pale red; less than 25 mm thick, 10.0-13.0; bark blaze consisting of one layer; faintly to non-aromatic; outer blaze white or pink, markings absent, fibrous; inner blaze white or pink, markings absent, fibrous; bark exudate (sap) present, colourless, not readily flowing (spotty), colour changing on exposure to air, to pale red, not sticky; terminal buds enclosed by leaves.

Indumentum: Complex hairs absent; stinging hairs absent; mature twig indumentum (hairs) present when young or absent, hairs sparse to dense.

Leaves: Leaves spaced along branches, spiral (leaves occurring singly at a node and arranged spirally up the branchlet), simple (a leaf composed of a single blade); petiole present, not winged, attached to base of leaf blade, not swollen; leaves broadest at or near middle, 16.0-21.0 cm, 8.0-10.0 cm; symmetric (to very slightly asymmetric), entire, not dissected or lobed, obtuse, venation pinnate, secondary veins open, prominent, intramarginal veins absent; leaves lower surface green, upper surface pale green, indumentum (hairs) present to absent, indumentum (hairs) dense to sparse (rough to touch); absent; domatia absent; stipules present, free, laterally placed, not encircling the twig, leafy, not fringed, large (18-22 mm long), not persistent.

Flowers: Inflorescence axillary, flowers on an unbranched axis (male flowers) to flowers arising from a single point (female flowers), cones absent; flowers unisexual, unisexual with male and female flowers on the same plant, not stalked, flowers with many planes of symmetry, 1.0 (c.) mm long, diameter small (up to10 mm diam.) (up to 1 mm diam.); perianth absent; stamens 1, present, free of each other; ovary inferior, carpels joined (when more than one), locules 1; styles absent or very short solitary, 1 (with 2 long stigmas).

Fruits: Infrutescence single (multiple fruit) or arising from single point ('fruitlets'), fruit 20.0-25.0 mm long, 19.0-24.0 mm diam., green, not spiny, fleshy, multiple (syncarp), indehiscent, drupe (drupes clustered together with a fleshy receptacle to form a syncarp); seeds 12, much more than 10 mm long, not winged, narrow (longer than wide), seed more than 10 mm diam.

Distribution: West Sepik or Morobe.
