Field Characters: Large canopy tree (20-30 m high) or Small sub-canopy tree; Bole cylindrical (up to c. 50 cm diam.); straight (bole up to c. 30 m long); buttresses buttresses absent; spines spines absent; aerial roots aerial roots absent; stilt roots stilt roots absent; Bark pale brown, slightly rough, pustular, lenticels elongated vertically; Subrhytidome (under-bark) pale orange or pale pink; less than 25 mm thick, 8.0-10.0; bark blaze with two layers; faintly to non-aromatic; outer blaze pink or brown, with stripes; inner blaze white or pale yellow, markings absent; bark exudate (sap) present, colourless, not readily flowing (spotty), colour not changing on exposure to air, sticky; terminal buds not enclosed by leaves.
Indumentum: Complex hairs absent; stinging hairs absent; mature twig indumentum (hairs) absent.
Leaves: Leaves spaced along branches, opposite (in pairs, opposite one another on the branchlet), simple (a leaf composed of a single blade); petiole present, not winged, attached to base of leaf blade, not swollen; leaves broadest at or near middle, 35.0-40.0 cm, 15.0-20.0 cm; symmetric, entire, not dissected or lobed, obtuse, venation pinnate, secondary veins open, not prominent, but visible, intramarginal veins absent; leaves lower surface green, upper surface dark green (sub-glossy), indumentum (hairs) absent; absent; domatia absent; stipules absent.
Flowers: Inflorescence axillary, flowers single, cones absent; flowers bisexual, stalked, flowers with many planes of symmetry; perianth present, with distinct sepals and petals whorls; 5, free; stamens 100, present (but very short), free of each other, free of the perianth; ovary inferior, carpels joined (when more than one), locules 2; styles absent (stigma sessile).
Fruits: Infrutescence single, fruit 20.0 (c.) mm long, green (probably immature), not spiny, fleshy, simple, indehiscent, berry; seeds much more than 10 mm long, not winged, broad (as wide as long), seed more than 10 mm diam.
